Opening of new Castleford store>
The new Castleford team at Poundbakery have been rolling up their sleeves and donning their aprons ahead of the opening of the new shop on Tuesday 19th August on Carlton Street.
The Mayor of Wakefield, Cllr Sandra Pickin will be in attendance to open the new store, welcoming the bakery on behalf of the local community. The launch of the new Castleford shop follows existing successes for Poundbakery across West Yorkshire, including branches in Wakefield, Halifax and Leeds.
9 people from the local area have been learning the difference between a Bavarian Slice and a Belgian Bun as they get to grips with their new role as sandwich makers & pie bakers ahead of the opening next week.
New shop manager Peter Stamp said: “There are lots of products to learn about, and we’ve been focusing on delivering the outstanding customer service that Poundbakery customers expect – but at least we’ve mastered the prices – it’s all £1!
“We’re expecting it to be busy right from the start, where else can you get two freshly baked sausage rolls for £1, two cream cakes for £1 or a bacon roll for £1? All our sandwiches are freshly made onsite each day and the delicious cream cakes are made in our bakery each morning. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will never be the same in Castleford again.”
The first Poundbakery opened in 2010 and the business has grown quickly with 72nd Poundbakery’s spreading across the North West, Yorkshire and North Wales.
